As Florida communities know all too well, hurricanes can drastically alter our landscapes and lifestyles in a matter of days. Seaplace, situated on beautiful Longboat Key, has faced its share of challenges. But as we move through the recovery process, one thing is clearโ€”our dedication to restoring and strengthening Seaplace is unwavering.

Hurricane Impacts and Immediate Response
Following hurricanes Helene and Milton, Seaplace experienced extensive damage, from sand buildup and foliage loss to structural impacts on pool areas, carports, and community landscaping. In collaboration with Cotton Disaster Recovery, our team initiated a thorough clean-up plan to restore the grounds, including removing massive amounts of sand from grassy areas, reviving beach dunes, and draining and cleaning our pools.

Progress and Plans Ahead
In recent weeks, we have:

  • Restored water levels in community pools and arranged for detailed cleaning and repair.

  • Addressed debris and sand buildup, using specialized equipment to reach tough spots.

  • Assessed and begun replacing dead foliage, including the iconic Seaplace sea grapes.

  • Organized tree preservation efforts for those affected by saltwater exposure, with early signs of regrowth.

With dedicated teams, our efforts are paying off, from playground restoration to the reopening of community amenities. Our journey is ongoing, and we look forward to sharing updates on continued progress.

Looking Forward
Seaplace is more than a communityโ€”itโ€™s a family. Weโ€™re grateful for the support of residents and look forward to welcoming everyone back to a fully restored Seaplace. For further updates on our restoration journey, contact Team Renick or subscribe to our newsletter.
