At Seaplace, we’ve always worked hard to maintain the best in-class services for our residents, and that’s why I’m excited to share some major news. Over the past few months, we’ve experienced a few internet outages—two in August and one in September—that disrupted the connectivity across the property. However, our provider, Hotwire Communications, has been actively working on a long-term solution to improve our internet reliability.

 

A New Era of Redundancy and Reliability

By the end of November, Hotwire will have completed the installation of a redundant fiber network at Seaplace. What does this mean for you? In the event that one fiber line is damaged (think construction or even hurricanes), your internet service will automatically switch to an alternate path—without any downtime. This is a significant improvement over the current system, where we rely on a single fiber path.

 

Why This Matters for Seaplace Residents

We understand how essential reliable internet service is—whether you’re working from home, streaming your favorite shows, or simply staying connected with family. With this new infrastructure, Hotwire is ensuring that Seaplace residents receive consistent, high-speed service no matter the circumstances.

 

What’s Next?

By Thanksgiving 2024, the secondary fiber path will be fully functional, completing our internet upgrade. Stay tuned for further updates as we move closer to this exciting development. I’ll be sure to keep you informed every step of the way.
